The Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Demo Berisha, met today with representatives of the National Council of the Romanian National Minority and the Federation of Jewish Communities of Serbia.
The meeting focused on challenges related to resolving property and legal relations between the Jewish Community of Pančevo and the publishing institution “Libertatea” in Pančevo, founded by the National Council of the Romanian National Minority.
This issue had previously been the subject of court proceedings; however, in the meantime, the parties reached an agreement on an amicable settlement of property and legal relations, pending the decision of the competent court.
The participants emphasized the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding in finding a sustainable solution that serves the interests of all parties involved. It was also highlighted that the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue will make efforts, within its competencies, to assist in resolving this matter as soon as possible.
The meeting was attended by the President of the National Council of the Romanian National Minority, Valentin Ardeljan, the President of the Managing Board of the publishing institution “Libertatea”, Marinel Petrica, the Secretary General of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Serbia, Danijela Danon, as well as the legal advisor of the Federation, Ilija Džaković, who represents the Jewish Community of Pančevo.
